Elementary K–6 Reading & Academic Intervention Tutor

Be Alright Tutoring is hiring experienced online tutors to support elementary students in reading, writing, math, and academic skill development in a virtual setting.

We are looking for educators who are confident working with struggling learners and can provide engaging, supportive, and structured instruction online. Many of our students need help with reading comprehension, foundational literacy skills, executive functioning, organization, confidence, and overall academic support.

This is not a homework-help position. We are looking for tutors who can actively teach, scaffold skills, and build student independence in a virtual environment.

We Are Especially Interested In Tutors With:

• Elementary teaching experience
• Reading intervention experience
• Special Education background
• Science of Reading or Structured Literacy knowledge
• Experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, or learning differences
• Strong virtual teaching skills

Executive functioning experience is a strong plus, but not required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable teaching online using Zoom and digital tools
• Reliable and professional
• Comfortable working with struggling learners

Preferred Qualifications

• Special Education certification or background
• Reading intervention or literacy instruction experience
• Science of Reading / Structured Literacy familiarity
• Online tutoring experience
• Executive functioning support experience

Availability Requirements

• Must be available at least 4 consistent weekday after-school hours between 3 PM–10 PM CST
• Minimum availability of 15–20 hours per week
• Consistent weekly schedule required
• Long-term availability required
• Weekend availability is a plus

Technology Requirements

• Reliable high-speed internet
• Quiet teaching environment
• Webcam and microphone
• Comfortable using Zoom, Google Docs, and online learning platforms
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues independently

This Position May NOT Be a Good Fit If You:

• Are only looking for temporary or summer work
• Prefer in-person instruction only
• Have limited weekday after-school availability
• Have an inconsistent schedule
• Are uncomfortable working with struggling learners
• Are not confident teaching virtually

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
