Elementary Maths Facilitator

At Tapas, the role of an Elementary Facilitator differs fundamentally from that of a conventional teacher. The Facilitator functions as a guide, observer, and co-learner, responsible for enabling Self-Directed Education (SDE) within a safe, respectful, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

This position requires sustained presence, intellectual curiosity, emotional maturity, and a strong commitment to continuous reflection and professional growth. As Tapas is engaged in building an unconventional educational model, adaptability and openness to ongoing learning are essential and non-negotiable aspects of the role.

Experience : 3 years +

Experience in Project-Based Learning (PBL) or inquiry-based pedagogical approaches : 2 years+

• Facilitate Self-Directed Education (SDE) in a holistic learning environment that values freedom, curiosity, and collaboration
• Observe, support, and guide learners individually and in small groups across academic and life-skill domains
• Design and offer learning experiences grounded in child development principles and learner interests
• Provide appropriate scaffolding, support, and intervention only when required — without controlling the learning process
• Review learner plans, assessments, and observations to understand each child’s needs, strengths, and challenges
• Implement and support individual learning plans and behaviour support plans, where applicable
• Maintain a classroom culture that is safe, inclusive, respectful, and emotionally responsive
• Take responsibility for the well-being and safety of learners during school hours
• Manage classroom operations, documentation, and any related responsibilities as required by the school
• Collaborate with fellow facilitators, families, and the Tapas leadership team

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
