Pressman Academy Is Seeking A New Elementary School Counselor!
The Elementary School Counselor is a full-time or part-time position and is part of the Department of Wellness. The Elementary School Counselor reports directly to the Director of Wellness and works collaboratively with the Elementary School Assistant Principal, Principals, School Rabbi, and faculty.

The elementary school counselor teaches grade-level social-emotional learning classes and supports the implementation of the school’s wellness curriculum. They partner closely with teachers and parents to strengthen students’ social-emotional and executive functioning skills. The counselor provides Tier 2 individual and small-group interventions and contributes to Tier 3 planning for the students most in need through participation in Student Support Team (SST) meetings. Serving as a liaison for students receiving external services, the counselor helps ensure coordinated communication between families, outside professionals, and the school. The counselor maintains accurate and confidential records and uses student data and observation to help inform intervention and program planning.
Additional responsibilities include leading parent education workshops, providing consultation and professional development for faculty, and helping to foster a positive, inclusive, and emotionally responsive school climate.
This position offers a salary range from $70,000–$90,000 and a benefits package including medical and retirement plans, as well as time off for most federal and Jewish holidays.
