Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher

Palm Bay Academy is seeking a passionate and creative Kindergarten Instructor to inspire and nurture the talents of our school children. As a Kindergarten Instructor, you will play a vital role in fostering creativity, self-expression, and a love learning in our students. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children, and have the ability to encourage educational exploration in a positive and engaging manner.

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Plan and Deliver Standards-Based Lessons

Develop daily and weekly lesson plans aligned with Florida Early Learning and Kindergarten Standards, incorporating literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies.

  • Differentiated Instruction

Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and English Language Learners (ELLs).

  • Integrate Technology

Use age-appropriate educational technology and digital tools to enhance learning and support Florida’s educational technology standards.

  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring

Administer formative and summative assessments (e.g., FLKRS/FAST) and use data to track student growth and guide instruction.

Classroom Management

  • Establish a Positive Learning Environment

Create a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that supports social-emotional development.

  • Behavior Guidance

Implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) or school-approved discipline policies to promote self-regulation and positive social skills.

  • Safety and Supervision

Maintain constant supervision of students and ensure adherence to health, safety, and emergency procedures.

Student Support and Development

  • Social-Emotional Learning

Foster cooperation, conflict resolution, and character development through structured activities and modeling.

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans

Collaborate with ESE (Exceptional Student Education) teams to implement accommodations or modifications.

  • Early Intervention

Identify developmental delays or learning challenges and refer students for evaluation when necessary.

Family and Community Engagement

  • Parent Communication

Maintain regular contact with families through conferences, newsletters, emails, and parent-teacher meetings.

  • Family Involvement

Encourage family participation in classroom activities, volunteer opportunities, and school events.

  • Community Resources

Coordinate with local organizations to enrich classroom experiences (e.g., guest speakers, field trips).

Professional Responsibilities

  • Compliance and Reporting

Maintain accurate student records, attendance, health information, and assessment data as required by Florida law and district policy.

  • Professional Development

Participate in ongoing training to meet Florida Educator Certification requirements and remain current with best practices in early childhood education.

  • Collaboration

Work closely with grade-level teams, school administrators, and support staff to align instruction and share strategies.
