Position: Elementary School Library Media Specialist - Carson
Pennsauken Public Schools is an urban/suburban Pre-K to 12th grade school district of approximately 5,000 students located in Camden County, New Jersey
Responsibilities:

Assists Language Arts supervisors with the creation of classroom libraries for the district
-
Researches and orders authentic young adult literature titles that connect reading and writing themes in Language Arts textbooks for the district
-
Analyzes library collections and prepares annual book orders
-
Researches databases and Internet applications that support curriculum for the district
-
Co-teaches the research process on an "as needed" basis at intermediate and middle school level
-
Conducts annual library needs assessments
-
Assists library aides in the maintenance and care of school libraries and their collections for the district
-
Creates a library reading incentive program for the district
-
Takes inventory of all media center materials
-
Operates specialized computer system for circulation media center materials
-
Maintains and organizes periodicals
- Assists in controlling status of books in circulation
-
Orders library supply materials
-
Assists with the processing of new materials
-
Maintains computerized records
-
Liaison with the Pennsauken Township Library
Qualifications:

Endorsement #2850, or #2855 Library Skills Development New Jersey State Certification REQUIRED

MUST pass NJ Criminal History Review Unit fingerprinting requirement

New Jersey State residency requirements for public employees in effect
