Elementary School Student Teacher

Job Summary

Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in delivering curriculum-based instruction across core subjects such as literacy education, math, and science, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible for diverse learning styles
  • Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and curriculum development best practices
  • Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning environment, promoting respectful behavior, and applying behavior management strategies effectively
  • Provide individualized tutoring and mentoring to students, including those with special education needs or autism spectrum disorder, to foster inclusive learning experiences
  • Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive lessons that stimulate student engagement
  • Conduct assessments, including standardized testing preparations, to monitor student progress and inform instructional adjustments
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities focused on early intervention and childhood development

Skills

  • Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood or elementary settings
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
  • Expertise in lesson planning tailored to diverse learners’ needs across literacy education, math, physical education, and library services
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies to create a safe and productive environment
  • Familiarity with working with individuals with autism or special education requirements; experience in private school settings is a plus
  • Ability to utilize learning technology platforms for instructional purposes and student assessments
  • Excellent writing skills for documentation, lesson planning, and communication purposes
  • Experience in curriculum development, tutoring, or working with children in early intervention programs is highly desirable
  • Skills in proofreading educational materials and supporting literacy initiatives within the classroom
