Job Overview

We expect that reading will be taught using Science of Reading.

Duties

• Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that promote critical thinking, creativity, and active participation.
• Utilize diverse teaching methods and learning technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement, clear expectations, and behavior management strategies.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparations.
• Provide individualized support and tutoring to students who need extra help, including those with special education needs or on the autism spectrum.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student development and address any learning or behavioral challenges.
• Incorporate early childhood education principles to enhance student engagement and independence.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, lesson plans, and student progress reports.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment that respects diversity and encourages positive social interactions.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.

Experience

• Prior classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in either public or private school settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment strategies.
• Experience working with children with special needs or in early intervention programs is advantageous.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools such as educational software, digital resources, and library services for young learners.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
• Proven ability to manage a classroom environment efficiently while maintaining high standards of behavior management.
• Background in early childhood education or childhood development coursework or certification is desirable.

Pay: $53,700.00 - $93,400.00 per year
