Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as literacy education, math, science, social studies, and physical education.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that support diverse learning needs.
  • Use learning technology tools to enhance instruction and engage students with interactive activities and digital resources.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparations and individualized assessments.
  • Provide mentorship and support to students with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services, including working with children with autism or other developmental challenges.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to develop tailored educational plans and ensure a cohesive learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and behavioral documentation in compliance with education administration standards.

Skills

  • Proven classroom experience with elementary-aged children in diverse educational settings.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and school administrators.
  • Expertise in curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
  • Knowledge of teaching physical education and integrating health & wellness into daily routines.
  • Familiarity with learning technology platforms and library services to support literacy and research skills.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism or other special needs populations; knowledge of Montessori or private school curricula is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills for lesson planning, tutoring sessions, standardized testing preparation, and managing classroom activities.
