Elementary School Teacher - 1st Grade

Position: Elementary Teacher - First Grade (Full-Time)

Position Available: March 16, 2026

Job Summary

The teacher will prayerfully help elementary students at AFBCS learn skills and guide their development so that they have the foundation to succeed. This position requires a person with patience and excellent creativity skills with the ability to always be on the move. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday.

• Has excellent classroom and discipline management skills to ensure a consistent and effective learning environment.
• Able to maintain a neat, tidy, and attractive classroom that promotes a positive learning and working environment.
• Keeps emergency lesson plans and is able to follow the AFBCS subfolder requirements in case of unexpected emergencies/absences.
• Able to follow the AFBCS policies on grading and lesson plans, as well as keep up with the assigned deadlines.
• Able to communicate with faculty, staff, students, and parents as necessary.
• Check email, text, and messages on the learning management system daily.
• Returns phone calls, emails, messages, etc., within 24 hours of receipt.
• Ability to log all communication, documentation, discipline, and the like in the learning management system as required.
• Attends required monthly faculty meetings.
• Coordinates field trips and classroom events.
• Offers weekly one-day-a-week tutoring.
• Other duties that may be assigned throughout the year by Administration.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree
• EC-6 Certification
• Experience in the classroom (preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
