REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate
• Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher requirements.
• Ability to develop and conduct individual educational plans, behavior intervention plans and to progress monitor student growth.
• Experience in managing and working in any special education classroom.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of Haslett Public Schools.
• Conduct IEP and other general caseload management duties.
• Meet all deadlines in a timely manner.
• Attend and participate in team meetings.
• Maintain, store, and protect all records and other data, records, and reports required by the program supervisor.
• Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet the varied needs of students with disabilities when appropriate.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree
• Dual Special Education Endorsements
• Establish and maintain constructive professional relationships with building staff.
• Cooperatively work with any paraprofessional assigned and supervise participating volunteers and student trainees.
• Provide assistance to substitute teaching personnel as needed.
• Perform all job-related duties assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services.
