Duties

  • Develop and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet each student’s unique learning goals and needs.
  • Deliver engaging lessons in core subjects such as literacy education, math, and science, incorporating specialized techniques like curriculum development.
  • Implement behavioral management strategies and behavioral therapy techniques to support positive behavior and social skills development.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor progress and inform instruction.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to coordinate services such as speech therapy and early intervention programs.
  • Manage classroom environments effectively through strong classroom management skills, ensuring a safe, nurturing space conducive to learning for children with disabilities.
  • Provide mentorship and tutoring to students who need additional support in literacy, math, or social skills development.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and behavioral reports while ensuring compliance with educational standards. Header

  • Proven experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or other special needs in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, parents, colleagues, and specialists.
  • Expertise in curriculum development tailored for diverse learners.
  • Proficiency in classroom management techniques that foster positive behavior health and effective behavior management strategies.
  • Ability to perform proofreading of instructional materials and assessments to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, and literacy education strategies.
  • Experience providing speech therapy or working alongside speech therapists is a plus.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health concepts applicable to children with disabilities including behavioral therapy techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students individually or in small groups through tutoring or targeted interventions.
  • Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, documentation, and compliance with educational standards related to special education. Pay: $50,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
