Duties
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning needs and goals.
- Design and deliver differentiated lesson plans across core subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
- Utilize evidence-based behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to promote positive classroom behavior.
- Conduct assessments, standardized testing, and progress monitoring to evaluate student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support students with speech therapy needs, deaf education requirements, or autism spectrum disorder.
- Manage classroom environment effectively through strong classroom management skills, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning space for children with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Provide mentorship and support to teaching assistants or aides, fostering a team-oriented approach to early childhood education.

- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Childhood Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for special education at the elementary level.
- Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood or elementary settings; experience with private schools or Montessori methods is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, behavioral health principles, and behavioral management techniques.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism, disabilities, or developmental delays; experience in deaf education or early intervention is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and external specialists.
- Proficiency in curriculum development for literacy education, math instruction, tutoring techniques, and library services integration. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Degree in Special Education
- Hold or be eligible for Missouri Teaching Certificate in Special Education or in an individual area
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines for IDEA and 504 partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
- Proven experience as a teacher
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment
- The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines
- Ability to integrate technology into the classroom

Pay: $35,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
