The Islamic Academy of Huntsville (IAH) is seeking Elementary School Teachers for the 2026-27 school year. IAH Elementary School promotes small class size, weekly one-on-one teacher coaching, a 7:30 am - 3:00 pm school day Monday through Thursday and a 7:30 am - 2:00 pm school day every Friday, and an abundance of planning time each week.
IAH Elementary School Teachers foster academic and personal growth through unique, hands-on learning experiences. Through dynamic lesson plans that align with the State educational standards, IAH teachers implement effective teaching strategies and facilitate activities that cater to diverse learning styles. Ideal candidates exhibit a strong commitment to educating young learners and encouraging their curiosity while promoting social, emotional, and academic development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field.
- State teaching certification.
- Previous teaching experience is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of child development and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks.
- Passion for working with young learners and fostering their creativity and curiosity.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as literacy education, math, science, and social studies.
- Incorporate learning technology and library services to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, informal observations and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Provide tutoring and additional support to students who need extra help.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral reports while ensuring compliance with school policies.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and upcoming events.
- Participate in school meetings, staff development sessions, and curriculum planning activities to continually improve teaching practices.
