Elementary Teacher - Combined 3rd/4th Grade

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Elementary Teacher for a small combined 3rd and 4th-grade classroom at our Christian college preparatory school. This full-time paid position features a low 1:8 student-to-teacher ratio and provides the opportunity to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment.

The ideal candidate must be Special Education certified and experienced in teaching students with learning challenges such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and Level 1 Autism. Candidates should be skilled in differentiated instruction and committed to helping every student thrive.

We are looking for an educator who models Christian values, brings creativity and enthusiasm to the classroom, and is dedicated to creating a supportive learning environment where every child feels known, valued, and successful.

Duties

  • Design and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for 3rd and 4th grades, incorporating literacy education, math, science, social studies, and arts.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques that promote respect and cooperation.
  • Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and engage students with interactive lessons.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and individualized assessments.
  • Provide targeted tutoring and intervention support to students needing extra help, including those with special education needs or on the autism spectrum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and upcoming activities to foster a strong home-school connection.

Skills

  • Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged children
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and building relationships with families.
  • Proficiency in using learning technology platforms
  • Experience with special education practices including working with individuals with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and level 1 autism
  • Ability to develop creative curriculum content while maintaining high standards for lesson planning and proofreading materials for accuracy.
  • Skilled in behavior management techniques that create a respectful learning environment conducive to student growth.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
