JOB SUMMARY:

Performs administrative functions that require a strong working knowledge and understanding of scanning, computer and computer program(s), as well as program processing guidelines for SNAP, Medical Assistance, Adult Financial, Colorado Works and Long Term Care programs . Performs administrative duties associated with initial intake and ongoing eligibility documentation for assistance programs as described in Colorado Staff Manuals, Volumes III, IVB, and VIII through the Department of Human Services or Department of Health Care Policy and Finance. Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Reviews all paper, email, fax and electronic documents submitted to the Economic Assistance Division. Electronically scans and uploads paper documentation in the County and State Workload data systems. Determines if documents are initial application or ongoing case documents and scans and sorts accordingly. Completes Application Initiation on new applications, starts redetermination applications in state computer program and uploads all documents to the county work management tracking system. Completes quality assurance on all work completed.

Schedules phone interviews if needed by assistance programs.

Screens applications to verify programs being applied for correct internal routing. Uses computerized systems to research current and past assistance status and history. Sets up new case files and properly categorizes household composition.

Maintains a working knowledge of the current prescribed eligibility computer system and data storage programs. Performs data entry functions to ensure that required and relevant information is accurately entered into numerous complex data systems. Scans and uploads change forms for continued eligibility determination.

Manages document workload and paper flow for the division. Ensures that all case documents are filed in the electronic case file appropriately and in a timely manner.

May be subject to vulgar, offensive language and behaviors during phone calls..

Based on workload, may be required to participate in mandatory overtime; such overtime may include evenings and weekends.

Responsible for understanding and demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of the eligibility administrative position including but not limited to: scanning, uploading documents, scheduling interviews, case research.

Communicates in a timely and responsive manner with internal teams, community organizations, providers, and State Staff.

Oral and written communications must be clear and effective.

Attends team and division meetings as requested. Works effectively in a team environment, providing assistance to co-workers as needed.

Completes and passes state training required for job duties. Maintains ongoing training as assigned.

Attends meetings as a representative of the department; conducts self in accordance with department values.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years office or office experience required.

Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) (desired)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires standing, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

Work is generally confined to a standard office environment.
