Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified ELV Engineer to manage and oversee all Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems for a mid-rise commercial development. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of ELV design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance, and possess proven experience in commercial projects in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, coordinate, and supervise installation of ELV systems including:
- CCTV / Video Surveillance
- Access Control & Security Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems (addressable & conventional)
- Public Address (PA) & Voice Evacuation Systems
- Structured Cabling (Data & Telecommunication)
- Building Management System (BMS) Interfaces
- Audio-Visual and Intercom Systems
- Review project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with MEP, architectural, and structural teams to integrate ELV systems efficiently.
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and testing to ensure proper installation and functionality of ELV systems.
- Assist in the preparation of BOQs, material submittals, and technical proposals.
- Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities to ensure all ELV systems meet performance and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly during construction and post-handover phases.
- Ensure compliance with UAE fire, safety, and telecommunications regulations, and relevant standards such as NFPA, BS, ISO, and local authorities’ guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of ELV engineering experience, preferably in the UAE.
- Proven experience in commercial mid-rise or high-rise projects.
- Strong understanding of ELV system integration, design principles, and installation practices.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and project management software.
- Knowledge of UAE local regulations and standards for ELV systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants, contractors, and clients.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with smart building technologies and IoT-enabled ELV systems.
- Knowledge of commissioning protocols and test procedures for ELV systems.
- PMP, CEng, or other professional certification is an advantage.
