Email Marketing Expert - Job Description (Gurugram, India; UK Hours)

Role Summary
We’re a UK-based agency hiring an Email Marketing Expert to own lifecycle strategy and execution across multiple clients using Mailchimp and Klaviyo. You’ll build high-performing flows, campaigns, and segments; improve deliverability; and report on revenue impact. Ideal for someone hands-on, analytical, and creative with strong copy/offer instincts and comfort collaborating with design and video teams.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Planning: Define email/lifecycle strategy per client (audiences, offers, cadence, content calendar, testing roadmap).
- Flows & Automation: Build/optimise core flows—welcome, browse/cart abandonment, post-purchase, winback, replenishment, lead nurture, review/U CG requests.
- Segmentation & Personalisation: Create ICP-aligned segments (RFM, engagement tiers, lifecycle stages); dynamic content and conditional splits.
- Campaigns: Plan and ship weekly/monthly campaigns; craft subject lines, preview text, and CTAs; coordinate creative with design/video.
- Deliverability & Compliance: Manage list hygiene, warming, sunsetting, and inbox placement; ensure SPF/DKIM/DMARC alignment; adhere to GDPR/PECR/CAN-SPAM.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track & improve CTOR, clicks, revenue per recipient, flow revenue %, unsubscribes, spam rates; own monthly reporting and insights.
- Integrations: Connect Klaviyo/Mailchimp with websites and ecommerce (e.g., Shopify/Woo), forms, pop-ups, and UTM standards.
- Testing: Run structured A/B tests (subject lines, send times, offers, creative, layout, dynamic blocks); document learnings.
- Templates & Production: Build responsive templates; QA links, images, alt text, dark-mode, accessibility; ensure brand consistency.
Requirements
Must-haves
- 3–5+ years in email/lifecycle marketing with direct Mailchimp and Klaviyo experience.
- Proven results improving revenue from flows and campaigns across multiple accounts.
- Strong grasp of segmentation, attribution, and deliverability best practices.
- Comfortable with light HTML/CSS edits inside ESP builders; excellent English for subject lines/copy.
- Data-driven mindset; confident turning dashboards into clear recommendations.
Nice-to-haves
- Ecommerce experience (Shopify/Woo), form/lead magnet strategy, SMS (Klaviyo), and referral programs.
- Experience with lead scoring, RFM modelling, and predictive segments.
- Basic design skills (Canva/Figma) for rapid creative iterations.
Tools
Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Google Analytics/GA4, Looker Studio (dashboards), Shopify/WooCommerce integrations, Opt-in/popup tools, Canva/Figma (with design support), Google Sheets/Docs, Notion/Asana.
KPIs (per client; calibrated to baseline)
- Flow Revenue Contribution: % of total store/lead revenue from automations.
- Revenue per Recipient (RPR) and Click-to-Open Rate (CTOR) for campaigns.
- List Health: growth rate, active % (90-day), unsubscribe & spam complaint rates.
- Deliverability: inbox placement indicators, bounce rate, sender reputation.
- Testing Velocity: ≥2–4 meaningful tests/month with documented learnings.
Working Arrangement
- Remote from India; operate “in the background” to keep email programs on track.
- Daily async updates; UK-time standups, reviews, and monthly reporting calls.
