The Town of Williston Police Department invites applications for a full-time public safety Dispatcher position. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring public safety by efficiently handling emergency and non-emergency calls and directing them to the appropriate authorities and personnel.

Additional qualifications for this role include the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and proficiently use communication and dispatching systems. Timeliness, active listening, calmness, and attention to detail are also essential. While previous experience in public safety dispatching is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement. The selected candidate must pass a comprehensive criminal background check, agree to a confidentiality agreement, and obtain NCIC certification within six months of hire.

The Town of Williston offers an excellent compensation package including health and dental insurance, retirement benefits, holidays, vacation, and sick leave. The starting wage rate is between $28-$31 per hour with shift differential and is subject to review based on the experience of the selected candidate. Work schedules vary and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime. Town of Williston Dispatchers work in unison with Town of Essex Dispatchers and are co-located at the Essex Police Department.
