Position Overview

Prime Physicians is seeking Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians — or qualified Internal Medicine/Family Medicine physicians with strong Emergency Department experience — to provide on-site emergency care at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Location: 1500 E. Woodrow Wilson Ave., Jackson, MS 39216

Schedule: Full-time on-site (VA-defined FTE = 80 hours every two weeks)

Compensation: $190.00/ HR

Period of Performance: 12 months from date of award

Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizens only

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Emergency Medicine services to eligible veterans in accordance with ACEP (American College of Emergency Physicians) guidelines.

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a full spectrum of emergency medical presentations.

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified / Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.

  • If Family Medicine or Internal Medicine certified, must have 2+ years of substantial, recent (within the past 5 years) Emergency Department experience.

• Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (in any state or territory).

• BLS and ACLS (current and valid).

• U.S. Citizenship required.

• Must meet VA credentialing and privileging requirements per VHA Directives 1100.20 & 1100.21.

• Must be technically proficient and fluent in English (spoken and written).
