Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated Registered Nurses with current experience to join the Emergency Department team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

We are looking for suitable qualified and experienced Registered Nurses looking to join a dynamic and supportive team. Successful applicants will be provided supported onboarding and orientation in partnership with our experienced team of Clinical Nurse Educators and Support Nurses.
For those individuals looking to further develop and consolidate their critical care nursing skill we do offer and encourage staff to explore our STEP (Supported Transition to Excellence in Practice) and post graduate studies as development pathways.

As a Registered Nurse working in the department, you will be accountable for the delivery of quality patient care and outcomes in a manner consistent with the professional code of conduct, legal requirements and organisational policies and procedures, within a framework of continuous quality improvement, and economic resource utilisation. The Grade 2 Registered Nurse or Midwife will work within scope of practice guidelines.

This role is responsible for:

  • Delivery of safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced emergency environment.
  • Management of a diverse range of presentations, from low‑acuity to complex and time‑critical conditions.
  • Application of critical thinking, clinical assessment, and prioritisation skills to support timely decision‑making.
  • Ensures to work within professional codes of conduct, legal requirements, and organisational policies.
