Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) – Medical Transport

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) specializing in medical transport to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in patient assessment, Basic Life Support (BLS), and safe transport practices. This role provides an opportunity to support patient safety and comfort during transportation in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to medical transport requests, ensuring timely arrival at facilities and transport destinations
• Assist with patient assessments, including obtaining vital signs and monitoring patient condition during transport
• Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) interventions within scope of practice and as directed by supervising EMTs
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient status, care provided, and transport activities
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, dispatch, facility staff, and medical team members
• Safely operate emergency and non-emergency vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and company driving policies
• Perform patient lifting, moving, and positioning using proper body mechanics and approved equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment, adhering to infection control and sanitation standards
• Assist with scene support, patient transfers, and coordination at healthcare facilities
• Support EMTs and clinical staff during transports, including bariatric and specialty transports as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• EMR certification (required)
• CPR certification (required)
• Strong knowledge of patient assessment and Basic Life Support principles
• Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to emergency medicine
• Experience obtaining and interpreting vital signs and recognizing changes in patient condition
• Ability to use patient-moving equipment and durable medical equipment (DME) safely and effectively
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or driving

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
