Looking for:
Full-time and part-time medical scribe with the availability to work evenings.
Location:
Shasta Regional Medical Center: Emergency Room
Job Description:
Our medical scribes work one-on-one with physicians in the interesting and fast-paced environment of an emergency department. The scribe’s main responsibility is helping the physician with charting, dictating, and navigating the Electronic Medical Record. The role involves close association with the physician, where you will follow them into examination rooms and other parts of the hospital. By accomplishing the many time-consuming duties that would otherwise be assigned to a physician, scribes enable physicians to spend more time with patients and increase the overall flow of patients in the emergency department.
Scribes provide accurate and timely charting of patient encounters, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, diagnoses, discharge instructions, prescriptions, addenda, and repeat examinations. The experience is extremely valuable for anyone who wants to pursue a career in medicine. There are very few work experiences that offer the opportunity to use your intelligence, organizational skills, and positive attitude on a daily basis.
There are two 8 hour scribe shifts with a 30 minute unpaid meal period per day:
Morning shift - 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Evening shift - 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM
