Emergency Medicine Specialist or Consultant

The Pearl International Hospital is seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Specialist or Consultant to join our Emergency Department. The role involves managing acute and urgent cases across all age groups, ensuring safe, timely, and high quality care in a fast paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage emergency and urgent care patients independently
  • Handle medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies according to accepted clinical standards
  • Perform emergency procedures such as airway management, resuscitation, suturing, splinting, and stabilization
  • Lead and participate in cardiac arrest and trauma responses
  • Work closely with inpatient teams and specialists for admissions and referrals
  • Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation
  • Support quality improvement and patient safety activities
  • Supervise junior doctors and clinical staff when required
  • Participate in duty rosters including nights, weekends, and public holidays

Requirements

  • Medical degree from a recognized university
  • Specialist or Consultant qualification in Emergency Medicine
  • Valid license or eligibility for licensing with Qatar DHP
  • Minimum 3 years of experience post specialist qualification for Specialist level
  • Minimum 7 years of experience post specialist qualification for Consultant level
  • Strong experience in adult and pediatric emergency care
  • Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound clinical decisions
  • Arabic language proficiency preferred
  • Previous clinical experience in Qatar preferred
