Position Summary:
Service members and other customers who contact AAA Hoosier Motor Club for roadside assistance. Drives to location of member to perform services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obey traffic laws, follow established traffic and transportation procedures, and all other company established safety rules.
- Perform all service in a manner that results in a Totally Satisfied experience for the member.
- Inspect, be responsible for and maintain vehicle supplies, cleanliness, and equipment.
- Immediately report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Verify that appropriate tools and documentation are in the vehicle prior to and after shifts and properly maintain all equipment.
- Safeguards, properly accounts for, and turns in receipts, money received and reconciles the inventory before and after shift change.
- Read maps, and follow written, verbal, and electronic geographic directions.
- Contact each member prior to going enroute to service their vehicle using appropriate protocol.
- Report on delays in reaching service destination.
- Performs emergency roadside service duties including but not limited to: jump starts, battery testing/replacement, tire changes, lockout services, fuel delivery, light mechanical, extrication and/or winching, towing services on disabled vehicles.
- Operate a tow vehicle in a safe manner with a valid driver's license and driving record in accordance with the AAA Associate Driver Safety Guide.
- Operate computer-related equipment including but not limited to wireless data terminals, vehicle charging system diagnostic equipment, credit card terminals and mobile phones in a professional and safe manner.
- Maintain and account for company provided fuel cards.
- Performs maintenance on Club vehicles as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Must pass a physical abilities test and a DOT physical upon being hired to perform duties of the Tow Technician level.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working in a Fleet garage setting with tools and vehicles. Noise levels, odors and temperatures will vary. Also, may be required to perform driving duties which include working alone outside in a variety of changing weather conditions including rain, snow, sleet, fog, ice, wind, during the day and night hours. Driving and working in hazardous traffic conditions in a variety of geographic locations from urban to rural.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Education and Skills:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Valid Driver’s license w/ For Hire endorsement, required, and driver record in accordance with the AAA Associate Driver Safety Guide and Standard.
Experience:
One to three months’ related experience or training preferred, but not required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
