Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (NP/PA)

Overview

Meade District Hospital, part of Artesian Valley Health System, is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide Emergency Department and inpatient care in our critical access hospital in Meade, Kansas.

This position offers a 7-on / 7-off schedule, the opportunity to practice independently, and strong collaboration with an engaged Hospital Medical Director who provides remote physician support.

Schedule

• 7 days on / 7 days off
  
• Wednesday – Wednesday rotation
  
• Providers alternate Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays
  

Position Highlights

• Independent provider role
  
• Physician backup available by phone
  
• Low patient volume
  
  • 3–5 ER patients per day
    
  • 2–3 inpatient patients
    
• Combination of ER and inpatient care
  
• Daily rounding and inpatient management
  
• Critical access hospital environment
  

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat Emergency Department patients
  
• Provide inpatient care and daily rounding
  
• Manage outpatient, observation, acute, and swing bed patients
  
• Collaborate with nursing staff and physician leadership
  

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  
• 3+ years of Emergency Room experience preferred
  
• Eligible for Kansas licensure
  
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (or ability to obtain)
  
• DEA (reimbursed)
  

EMR

• TruBridge (CPSI)
