Emergency Shelter Case Manager (FT)

Lazarus House is a homeless shelter located in downtown Saint Charles, IL. We are a 24/7 program that serves people in need of a safe place to stay. We provide shelter, meals, case management, as well as educational and employment classes to all who enter our doors. We have emergency shelter and transitional living programs. We also offer financial assistance programs for people to remain housed in the community.

The Emergency Shelter Case Manager is responsible for utilizing trauma-informed care while working primarily with Emergency Shelter male guests and their children, helping them reach their personally defined goals, providing support to meet their requests, and helping them move toward independent living.

Duties include:

• Consistent case management with shelter guests
• Participation in and commitment to the case management team
• Screening and Intakes of potential shelter guests
• Support to all shelter guests
• Outcome reporting and maintenance of guest files
• Displaying confidentiality & excellent boundaries
• Ability to work some evenings and weekends

Applicant Education & Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Human Services field required
• Experience in Human Services, Homelessness, Mental Health, Addictions and/or the Culture of Poverty a plus
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Pay is commensurate with experience

• Strong knowledge of human social services
• Demonstrate intermediate computer skills
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent English written and verbal communication
• Ability to work with professional independence within Lazarus House policies
• Ability to use sound judgment in crisis situations and to make wise decisions
• Ability to handle confidential materials and information in an ethical, professional manner
• Possession of a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $48,000.00 per year
