Clinical Care
- Act as a safe practitioner in high-pressure emergency situations, demonstrating clinical competence and prompt response.
- Perform rapid triage, prioritize patients based on acuity, and initiate emergency nursing interventions.
- Assist physicians in resuscitation, procedures, and emergency interventions (airway management, IV lines, cardiac monitoring, etc.).
- Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed.
- Monitor and record vital signs, neurological status, and patient responses to treatment.
- Provide first aid and basic/advanced life support as required.
- Ensure infection prevention and control practices in emergency settings.
- To prepare and keep ACLS Ambulance ready for emergency transport and retrieval services.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with emergency physicians, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals for patient stabilization.
- Coordinate with diagnostic, laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy departments for urgent investigations and treatments.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families during emergencies, providing updates and emotional support.
- Facilitate safe transfer of patients to ICU, wards, or other facilities as required.
Documentation & Administration
- Accurately document triage notes, treatment plans, nursing care, medications, and patient progress.
- Maintain proper records of critical events, crash cart usage, and emergency interventions.
- Ensure timely handover during shift changes with accurate patient details.
- Raise requisitions for emergency supplies, consumables, and medications.
Safety & Quality
- Ensure readiness of emergency equipment (defibrillators, crash cart, ventilators, suction units, etc.) and report malfunctions immediately.
- Participate in emergency drills, code blue/code red management, and disaster preparedness activities.
- Follow hospital, national, and international guidelines for emergency care and patient safety.
- Identify and report adverse events, near misses, and safety hazards.
Education & Teamwork
- Mentor and guide junior nurses and trainees in emergency nursing skills.
- Engage in continuous education, workshops, and certification in emergency/critical care.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary team discussions and debriefings after critical events.
- Collaborate with ambulance/prehospital teams for seamless patient handover.
