POSITION SUMMARY
The Employee Experience Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring quality delivery of all facets of HR and training functions including development of policies and procedures, full cycle recruiting and onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, staff development, compliance and employee relations. Builds and maintains a strong functional Employee Experience team through training, coaching, team building and knowledge sharing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits & Compensation:

Manages the administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, COBRA, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and retirement plans (e.g., 401(k)). Ensures accurate recordkeeping, timely communication of benefit information, and coordination of annual processes such as open enrollment and billing.

Serves as an administrator for the Credit Union 401K and 457B plans.
- Monitors workers’ compensation claims and provides guidance and direction to mitigate legal risks.

Manages the resolution of payroll-related problems, unexpected results or process flaws; recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements; Responds to inquiries concerning employees’ payroll deductions, leave accruals, hours, wage garnishments and other related topics.
- Manages salary administration including updating salary ranges, conducting salary comparisons and working with management and Senior Leadership in ensuring job descriptions and salary ranges are current.

Manages the annual merit increase process.

Assists in preparing the annual department and organization wide benefit and salary budgets.

Assists in preparing the bi-annual bonus pool spreadsheets, providing various allocation scenarios and recommendations for CEO approval.
Employee Relations & Performance Management:

Guides management in disciplinary matters, making every effort to mitigate risk and assure fairness and consistency

Conducts and/or coordinates any personnel-related investigations as necessary;
-
Assists with involuntary terminations including process/procedures and mitigating legal risks.
Recruiting:
-
Manages effective recruiting programs; Assists with identifying needed critical skills and ensures that potential employees meet established guidelines to assure the highest caliber of individual is hired.
Training & Staff Development:

Leads and manages the performance and resources of the training team to ensure the effective and responsive delivery of services to staff.
Project Management & Program Administration:
-
Manages a variety of additional programs including recognition, wellness, volunteerism, business continuity, lunch programs, etc.

Manages the process and team to accomplish project goals while effectively collaborating and coordinating with other departments as needed.
Compliance/Other:
-
Works closely with internal and external auditors to ensure the Credit Union follows regulations and generally accepted HR principles.
- Consults legal counsel to ensure HR policies comply with federal and state laws.

Assists with preparing, maintain and updating the Employee Handbook annually or more often as needed to maintain credit union policies, federal and state legal compliance.

Manages the planning and execution of large employee appreciation events including milestone anniversary luncheons, summer and winter appreciation events, all staff meetings, special recognition celebrations, etc.

Performs special assignments and other work-related duties as assigned.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including experience successfully supervising others

Knowledge of a broad range of human resources strategies and practices, including recruiting, benefits and compensation, performance management, hiring and employee relations
-
B.A. degree in Psychology, Education, Communications, HR Management or related field preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
-
Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations affecting employment

Ability to be effective with employees on a variety of personnel levels
