Hope Christian Health Center is a non-profit, faith-based organization operating two clinics in North Las Vegas, a mobile outreach team, and the HCHC Recuperative Care Center (HCHC RCC) in Las Vegas. The HCHC RCC is a 38-bed inpatient program that offers primary care, case management, wound care, and other supportive services to clients who are homeless made possible through partnership with the City of Las Vegas.

JOB SUMMARY: The Employee Relations Specialist is crucial in fostering a positive work environment by organizing and facilitating performance reviews, managing employee grievances, and overseeing disciplinary actions and terminations. This role involves collaborating with managers to set review schedules, prepare materials, and address performance issues, while also serving as a primary contact for resolving conflicts with sensitivity and adherence to company policies. The Specialist will develop programs to enhance employee engagement, ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, and provide expert advice on employee relations matters. Additional responsibilities include leading New Employee Orientation, delivering training, monitoring employee relations metrics, and maintaining accurate records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Duties:
- Organize and facilitate performance review processes, ensuring timely and constructive feedback for all employees.
- Collaborate with managers to set review schedules, prepare review materials, and address any performance-related issues.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee grievances, handling complaints and conflicts with sensitivity and professionalism. Investigate and resolve issues promptly, ensuring fair treatment and adherence to company policies.
- Manage disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Work with managers to implement progressive discipline procedures and ensure proper documentation throughout the process.
- Promote a positive work environment by developing and implementing programs and initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Offer expert advice to employees and management on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and compliance with labor laws.
- Ensure that all employee relations practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies.
- Develop and deliver training programs on employee relations topics, including conflict resolution, effective communication, and performance management.
- Lead New Employee Orientation sessions educating staff on relevant policies and programs
- Monitor and analyze employee relations metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements. Prepare reports for leadership on employee relations issues and outcomes.
Other Duties:

- Ensure compliance with all 19 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program Requirements through high level employee and administrative support.
- Collaborate with the HR team on special projects, HR initiatives, and other tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files.
- Maintains the confidentiality of Hope Christian Health Center employees, contractors, volunteers, and patients.
- Maintains a courteous and professional demeanor and provides excellent customer service to support employee functions.
- Support the implementation and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
- Attends and actively participates in staff meetings.
- Assists in other tasks as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is a plus
- At least one year previous experience in Human Resources
- Experience working in healthcare is preferred

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
