Job Description: The Employment Case manager is responsible for providing workforce development orientation services to individuals who have been incarcerated. Collaborate with the Director of Workforce Development and Education and the Employment Developer/Case Manager assisting formerly incarcerated men/women with employment, education, readiness support, resume building, interview preparation, and multidimensional solutions. The Employment Case Manager will guide new participants from a strengths-based, gender-responsive participant--focused orientation in post-release environments. The Employment Case Manager will work with the Director of Workforce Development and Education, the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), and other outside agencies to identify and train formerly incarcerated individuals in obtaining living wage employment and/or entrepreneurial opportunities. Additionally, this position collaborates with the CEO and other community partners to assist in maintaining best practices of trauma-informed services in the application of methods with gender as an engagement perspective.

Qualifications:

  • Must Clear Background check
  • Trauma-informed and gender-responsive focused
  • Experience working with the reentry population
  • 1 year of teaching or instruction experience preferred
  • BS/BA strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal/collaborative skills
  • Strong data tracking and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain program data and organizational systems
  • Valid state driver’s license and insurance required.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Data Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Co-facilitate introductory workshops and orientation to employment readiness skills.
  • Facilitate individualized employment services (job training navigation, career exploration, transferable skills assessment, employment pathway, and future timeline discussion in one on ones and group settings).
  • Provide job readiness skills training such as resume building, mock interviewing scenarios, computer literacy training, and job search techniques.
  • Provide transferable skills education, career counseling, case management, and job/business coaching, coordinate job skills training, potentially arrange interviews with employers, and work one on one with participants up to the interview and beyond the 90-day new hire period.
  • Case management services using a one-to-one “check-in” format, one-to-one follow-up, mentorship, and life skills cultivation.
  • Provide participants assistance with securing valid ID and documents needed for post-release employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
