The Employment Coordinator supports the full-cycle recruitment and employment process for the university. This role coordinates job postings, candidate screenings, onboarding and employment compliance while ensuring alignment with institutional policies, equal opportunity standards and strategic workforce planning initiatives. The Employment Coordinator serves as the key liaison between hiring managers, candidates and the Office of Human Resources; and assists the department with all functions of human resource management.
Essential Duties:
- Facilitates all faculty and staff recruitment searches on the universityโs applicant tracking system.
- Advises hiring managers on recruitment processes, procedures and best practices.
- Composes, recommends, and places job advertisements as necessary.
- Schedules travel accommodations for candidate on-campus interviews, including flight and hotel.
- Assists university department supervisors and managers with updating or creating job descriptions; ensuring essential job functions, education and skills are recorded appropriately and accurately.
- Facilitates onboarding processes, including background checks and employment paperwork.
- Maintains accurate employee records within the HRIS system.
- Ensures hiring practices comply with federal, state and local employment laws; and monitors equal employment opportunity (EEO) compliance.
- Assists the department with processing employment paperwork, payroll functions, budgets, data input, and customer service.
- Maintains strict confidentiality; protecting sensitive employee data.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
