Employment Specialist/Job Coach

  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Employment specialist/Job Coach to join our Employment Services team. This role is essential in supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their vocational and post-secondary goals. In this position you will provide job coaching, peer support, employment preparation, and transition services to ensure successful integration into the workforce and post-secondary life.

Key Responsibilities

Review consumer’s IPP and intake documents to identify service needs and align with vocational goals.

Assess and address barriers for Employment Services

Provide individualized job coaching, on-site and off-site, to support employment retention.

Develop teaching and learning strategies to help clients meet workplace performance expectations.

Submit daily progress notes to counselors and specialists; maintain accurate database records.

Monitor social functioning, engaging with counselors, families, and employers as needed.

Collaborate with employers and clients to ensure successful 90-day employment retention.

Maintain regular communication with Employment Specialists, Regional Center Counselors, and Employers.

Develop Individual Service Plans (ISP) with measurable goals and progress tracking.

Serve as liaison among consumers, counselors, and employers.

Coordinate Pre-Employment Training and Job Preparation activities (Job Club, workshops, etc.).

Assist consumers with resume building and master applications.

Promote agency services through outreach, marketing, and employer engagement.

Provide peer training, leadership, and outreach through peer support networks.

Prepare monthly reports for Program Managers.

Ensure compliance with agency policies, legal standards, and grant requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

  • AA degree in human/social services or related degree or 2 years of relevant studies is desirable.
  • Two years direct (hands-on) experience with individuals with a wide range of developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness to accept work direction from others.
  • Professional English writing ability, including usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
  • Proficient use of basic office equipment, Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to keep and file records.
  • Ability to be flexible; work schedule may change on a weekly basis.
  • Immediate access to a vehicle with working seat belts, and proof of current driver’s license and car insurance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
