EMS Communications and Billing Specialist

<Job Summary>
Join our dynamic team as an EMS Communications and Billing Specialist, where you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless communication, accurate billing, and efficient dispatching for emergency medical services. <Responsibilities>

  • Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Manage incoming calls for emergency dispatch, triage, and non-emergency inquiries using GPS and GIS technology to locate incidents accurately.
  • Perform detailed data entry of call information, medical terminology, and incident details into the system with high typing speed and transcription accuracy.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and first responders through effective communication and conflict management techniques.
  • Utilize analysis skills to review call logs, billing records, and dispatch data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Handle billing processes by verifying insurance information, coding services appropriately, and processing payments efficiently.
  • Maintain security protocols during data entry and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.

<Requirements>

  • Proven EMT experience or background in emergency medical services is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and multi-line phone systems is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, first aid procedures, and law enforcement coordination enhances your effectiveness in this role.
  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are crucial for clear interactions with team members, emergency responders, and patients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in typing, transcription, data entry, and negotiation skills to handle complex situations efficiently.
  • Ability to manage conflict calmly while providing exceptional phone etiquette during high-pressure calls.
