Endocrinology Physician

Position Overview

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Endocrinologist for a 6-month locum tenens assignment. This role offers a full-time outpatient schedule with the opportunity to manage a diverse adult endocrinology patient panel. Providers will also share call responsibilities, ensuring continuity of patient care.

Assignment Highlights

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (first patient at 8:20 AM)

• Call Coverage: Every 3-4 months (discussed further in interview)

  • On call days, provider will not be scheduled for clinic patients

• Unit Type: 100% adult endocrinology

• Support: Experienced nursing staff, diabetes education, nutrition counseling program

Skills & Experience

• MD or DO degree; Board Certified/Board Eligible in Endocrinology

• Active VA medical license (or in process at time of submission)

• DEA and CSR required

• Experience managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including insulin pumps

• Strong communication and patient counseling skills

• Proficiency with EMR and medical technology
