Endodontic Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Assist dentists during endodontic procedures
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology like 3D scanners and medical imaging tools while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
  • Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Endovision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain procedures using clear dental terminology.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout treatment sessions.
  • Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation and coding for billing purposes.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by practicing aseptic techniques and adhering to infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry techniques to increase efficiency during procedures.
  • Assist with medical documentation related to dental procedures and ensure accurate recording of medical records for each patient.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
  • Proficiency in dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology is required.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft along with experience using medical imaging tools such as 3D scanners is advantageous.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques ensures compliance with industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry combined with medical terminology enhances communication within the team.

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
