Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat diseases of the dental pulp and root tissues
- Perform root canal therapy, apicoectomies, and other endodontic surgeries
- Use dental imaging (e.g., X-rays, CBCT scans) to assess tooth damage
- Manage dental trauma and replant avulsed teeth
- Prescribe medications for pain management and infection control
- Educate patients on treatment plans and post-procedure care
- Collaborate with general dentists and other specialists for comprehensive care
- Maintain detailed records of diagnoses, treatments, and progress
- Stay updated on advancements in endodontic techniques and technologies
- Qualifications
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
- Completion of an accredited endodontic residency program
- Licensure to practice dentistry in the relevant state or country
- Board certification (e.g., from the American Board of Endodontics) is preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, pathology, and radiographic interpretation
