Endodontist

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat diseases of the dental pulp and root tissues
• Perform root canal therapy, apicoectomies, and other endodontic surgeries
• Use dental imaging (e.g., X-rays, CBCT scans) to assess tooth damage
• Manage dental trauma and replant avulsed teeth
• Prescribe medications for pain management and infection control
• Educate patients on treatment plans and post-procedure care
• Collaborate with general dentists and other specialists for comprehensive care
• Maintain detailed records of diagnoses, treatments, and progress
• Stay updated on advancements in endodontic techniques and technologies
• Qualifications
• Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
• Completion of an accredited endodontic residency program
• Licensure to practice dentistry in the relevant state or country
• Board certification (e.g., from the American Board of Endodontics) is preferred
• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, pathology, and radiographic interpretation
