Energetic, Nurturing Afternoon Nanny For Surgeon Family Near Centennial Park

CPAN: Energetic, Nurturing Afternoon Nanny For Surgeon Family Near Centennial Park

Description:

A spirited, music-filled family is looking for an adventurous afternoon nanny to share in the best hours of the day with two remarkable children.

LOCATION

Nashville, Tennessee (Centennial Park area, 37209)

THE FAMILY

These two surgeons recently planted roots in Nashville, bringing with them the warmth and volume of a big Italian family and a deep belief that a great home life starts with the right people in it. When they are not in the OR, you will find them at Centennial Park, tending their backyard garden, reading aloud together, or following the sound of music and dancing to wherever it is coming from.

Their two children are the heart of everything. B5 is the kind of five-year-old who orders turmeric tea with the confidence of someone much older. He is thoughtful, artistic, and genuinely interested in the world around him. He loves sports alongside his quieter pursuits and is starting kindergarten this fall.

G2.5 is something else entirely: a tiny force of nature who talks constantly, sings louder, dances whenever possible, and will absolutely attempt the biggest slide at the park without hesitation. She is hilarious, sweet, and a handful in the best possible way. Together, they are best friends who hold hands on the sidewalk and occasionally drive each other crazy, just as siblings should.

This family is looking for someone who genuinely loves this age and this energy, who can bring creativity, calm, and real engagement to afternoon hours that matter.

THE ROLE

Your afternoons begin with school pickup for B5 and G2.5 waking from her nap, and from there the day opens up. This family loves getting the children out into Nashville as often as possible, and you will be the one dreaming up those adventures: the park, the pool at the neighbors' house, a museum visit, a playdate, or simply a long afternoon outside in the garden. Both children are active in sports, music, and swimming, and coordinating and driving to those activities will be a regular part of your rhythm.

As the day winds down, you will transition into the evening routine: preparing dinner for the children, managing bath time, and guiding everyone through the bedtime hours with calm and consistency. Light child-related tidying is part of the role. This family values a caregiver who is genuinely present, off her phone, and engaged with the children during every hour together. Both parents work long surgical days and come home eager to reconnect with their kids; having an afternoon nanny they completely trust makes that possible.

When you arrive, you’ll be switching off with a more household-support focused caregiver who will arrive in the mornings. The children will always be your top priority, but the right fit for this role is someone who can seamlessly switch from caring for the kids to tackling household needs when the kids are otherwise occupied.

YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF…

  • You are warm, nurturing, and genuinely energized by the preschool and early elementary years,
  • You are calm and firm without raising your voice, someone who knows how to redirect big emotions before they escalate,
  • You come up with creative, thoughtful outings and ideas rather than defaulting to screens,
  • You can match B5's thoughtful curiosity and G2.5's full-throttle energy in the same afternoon without losing your footing,
  • You are proactive and take ownership of what needs doing, from noticing a low supply to planning the week's outings,
  • You communicate clearly and reliably with parents, keeping them in the loop without being prompted, and
  • Bonus: You speak Spanish or ASL.

ESSENTIALS

  • Minimum 3 years of professional nanny or childcare experience
  • Experience with children ages 2-6
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain prior to start)
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle (family provides car seats)
  • Comfort supervising young children in and around a pool
  • Up-to-date vaccinations: MMR, flu, and Tdap required
  • Non-smoker/non-vaper
  • Clean background check
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

WHY THIS FAMILY?

  • You will spend your afternoons with two of the most interesting children in Nashville: one who will explain photosynthesis to you and one who will immediately try to eat the plant.
  • This family leads with warmth, trust, and the understanding that great childcare is a profession deserving of real investment.
  • Guaranteed hours, a health insurance stipend, and a year-end bonus make this a position worth building a career around.

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Paid time off

Work Location: In person
