Energetic, Warm, and Witty Nanny for an Attentive Christian Family in Thompsons Station

Description:

This well-organized, growing family with three children under three is seeking a competent nanny to help nurture and teach their young children.

LOCATION

Thompsons Station, Tennessee (37179)

THE FAMILY

Dad is a former Big Tech leader, now entrepreneur, who devotes as much time to family as to his fledgling business. Mom works remotely as an Accounting Manager with flexible work hours enabling her to focus on the children. Their growing family is their top priority. The family regularly attends a local church, emphasizes expressions of gratitude, and teaches their children both morals and good manners from an early age, so an ability to foster Christian faith and values are a requirement for this position.

G2.5 is talkative, inquisitive, and extremely good-natured; she knows her ABCs, counts to twenty, and has a proclivity for “cleaning up messes”. She is strong-willed, assertive, and emotionally self-aware, all traits that her parents want to nurture rather than suppress, so she needs a caregiver who can answer endless questions, win endless battles of will, and maintain a warm interaction throughout it all.

B1.5 is her disarmingly charming counterpart: affectionate, physically adventurous, and happiest when he is outside, being read to, or cuddling. While he speaks less than his sister, he is developing language skills earlier than his more talkative sibling, so both parents try to find time to quiz him. He’ll be keeping up with his big sister soon! He needs constant physical and mental challenges so a caregiver who loves little boys and enjoys activities designed for them is ideal.

Their newest arrival, G1mo, rounds out the trio, so a nanny who can care for a baby while supervising toddler activities is a must. Fortunately for all, this newest little one is nicely settled into her routine and is quite easy to care for.

The home has been thoughtfully designed around the children, including a large, upstairs playroom stocked with multiple playsets, an outdoor area with a sandbox, and a dedicated craft cabinet. There are two gentle, large dogs in the house, a five-year-old golden retriever and a six-year-old Samoyed. Grandma visits for a few weeks at a time throughout the year and has her own room in the home. A teenage daughter also returns from school abroad and will permanently move back home in 2027. Family visits from other grandparents, aunts, and uncles are not uncommon, so the nanny should expect a busy house, bursting with love.

THE ROLE

In this role, you will prepare meals, snacks, and bottles, provide sick care when needed, and handle light child-related tidying. The house is well-organized and routinely professionally cleaned so this role focuses on the children.

The core of this role is to provide basic care, supervision, and structured activities for all three young children. Your days will move between structured learning activities (letters, numbers, fine motor skills) and unscripted play. This includes arts and crafts, outdoor time, and neighborhood outings to places like the local playhouse and neighborhood pool. The ideal candidate will adapt quickly to the existing rituals and routines and provide thoughtful additions for new activities to enhance the children’s learning experience.

The family uses intentional repetition with their children, including reading the same beloved books endlessly throughout the day, reciting the alphabet or counting mid-play, and being consistent in application of rules and language used to describe them, so a nanny with a fine attention to detail and the patience to repeat things endlessly is a must.

G1mo will need attentive infant care throughout, including bottle feeding, soothing, and supporting her developing routine. The parents have largely scripted and scheduled out her day so a nanny able to juggle active toddlers while keeping an eye on the time for the baby’s routine is a must.

Both toddlers rest in their room from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, giving the day a natural rhythm and a built-in moment to reset. Both parents find free time throughout the day that they devote to their children, so expect scheduled and unscheduled parent time as the norm. Taken together, these offer ample opportunity for breaks and down time for the nanny.

YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF…

  • You are comfortable engaging with highly interactive, thoughtful parents,
  • You will foster Christian faith and values, nurturing humility, gratitude, kindness, respect, and manners in the children at all times,

  • You love little boys and enjoy activities designed to challenge them,

  • You value structured learning activities for children,
  • You can navigate conflict between siblings in a way that builds their own toolboxes without stepping into every interaction or fight, and
