Caseworker - Enforcement Department

Position Summary

The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office Division of Child Support is hiring caseworkers in our Enforcement Department to enforce and collect current child support orders, child support arrearages, medical support and periodic review for modification.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Researches cases to determine the appropriate action to ensure compliance with court orders

· Drafts civil and/or criminal enforcement motions which will be filed with the court

· Researches numerous data bases to verify the necessity and propriety of modification of child support orders and the location of parents who have a duty to pay child support

· Calculates child support obligations, delinquencies, and total balances

· Enters a detailed summary of each case handled in the child support system

* Ensures the personal demographics of child support participants is accurate

* Accepts payments from obligated parents via phone

* Works performance related reports as assigned

* Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Must have the ability to work with the public in a professional manner, showing respect, patience, and understanding. Possess strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to retain detailed information and high level of attention to detail is needed. Exhibit the ability to follow direction from others and follow through with appropriate information or action when requested. Computer experience preferred.

EDUCATION: High school graduate or its equivalent.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: None

Salary: $39,520.00 per year/ $19.00 per hour (funding is in whole or in part from federal, DCSS, or other state funds).
