JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) position is to implement Merak Supplier Quality Assurance Program. This includes supplier rating/performance reporting, establishing Supplier Quality flow downs, evaluating the supplier’s quality systems, performing product and process validations on the supplied product, evaluating nonconforming products, and implementing corrective actions. Also responsible for directing all commodity team supplier quality efforts to ensure the highest quality standard for purchased materials received at Merak. Additionally, to support supplier value engineering efforts to enhance supplier cost reductions, producibility improvements, and reduce the cost of supplier quality.

Essential Functions

  • Implement and maintain a complete Supplier Quality Assurance Program with key strategic suppliers to establish the highest quality standard for materials.
  • Implement an ongoing supplier maintenance program to evaluate supplier performance at their facility and at Merak to ensure that established requirements are met and that there is evidence of continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate Non-Conforming material and manage and implement corrective actions with associated suppliers.
  • Communicate supplier development activities with the manufacturing team. Support manufacturing teams on problem-solving and corrective action related to supplier issues.
  • Support daily quality with the manufacturing team.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support, and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) as defined in the goal tree.
  • Actively participate and create Project Milestones.
  • Follow up on problem solving and create solutions (Non conformities, client complains) Using 8D reports.

Knowledge:

  • Can develop and implement Quality standards.
  • Is proactive and strategic thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident in facing customer or supplier.
  • Familiar with IPC standard requirements
  • Understanding of ISO 9000 or equivalent quality system standards
  • Knowledge of the total supplier quality assurance process

Experience:

3-5 years in quality, supplier quality, quality analyst

Education:

Bachelor´s degree

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Westminster, MD is $89,900 to $134,900 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Westminster Merak RAIL is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use. Requirements for these benefits will be controlled by applicable plan documents and policies. Employees working on federal contracts covered by the Federal Paid Sick Leave requirements will be notified and will receive benefits consistent and compliant with the FPSL requirements. Hired applicant will be able to purchase company stock, subject to the relevant plan documents and annual bonuses based on achievement of certain metrics of up to 4% of annual salary.
