Key Responsibilities:

  • PLC Programming and System Design:
    Design and develop PLC programs (e.g., using Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, or Woodward platforms) for new installations and system retrofits.
    Create and modify Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
    Develop and review technical documentation, including control narratives, I/O lists, electrical schematics, and functional design specifications.
  • Installation, Commissioning, and Troubleshooting:
    Supervise and participate in the on-site installation and commissioning of automation systems on vessels and in industrial plants.
    Conduct comprehensive testing of control systems to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
    Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, instrumentation, and software-related issues on diesel engine control systems.
    Perform troubleshooting on engine governors, actuators, and various control loops (e.g., for speed, load, and safety systems).
  • Technical Support and Customer Relations:
    Provide expert technical support to clients and field service teams, both remotely and on-site.
    Liaise with customers, engine manufacturers, and classification societies to ensure project requirements are met.
    Prepare detailed service reports, outlining work performed, technical findings, and recommendations for future maintenance.
  • Project Management and Planning:
    Plan and manage the technical aspects of automation projects from conception to completion.
    Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Sales) to ensure efficient project execution.
    Generate accurate project timelines, resource plans, and cost estimates.
  • Safety and Quality Assurance:
    Adhere strictly to all company, client, and industry safety protocols (e.g., working on-board vessels).
    Ensure all work complies with the highest quality standards and relevant maritime regulations (e.g., ISO, Class society rules).
    Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks for all on-site work.
