Role Overview

We are seeking a mid-level Engineer with strong experience in cost control, tendering, and procurement within the interior fit-out industry.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of the commercial and procurement functions across projects, ensuring effective cost planning, competitive sourcing, and efficient procurement execution.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Control & Estimation

• Prepare project cost estimates and budgets based on drawings and specifications
• Monitor project costs vs. budget and highlight variances
• Support value engineering to optimize cost without compromising design intent

Tendering

• Prepare and review BOQs and tender documents
• Float inquiries, analyze supplier/subcontractor quotations
• Prepare technical & commercial comparative statements (CS)
• Support bid evaluations and negotiations

Procurement

• Review drawings, BOQs, and specifications to define procurement requirements
• Break down scope into material and subcontract packages
• Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules
• Issue LPOs and subcontracts as per company procedures
• Track procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery to site

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with design, estimation, and project teams for approvals and timelines
• Maintain vendor database and supplier relationships
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements
• Prepare cost reports, procurement logs, and cash flow inputs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architect, Interior Design or related field
• 5-8 years of UAE experience in interior fit-out
• Proven experience in cost control, tendering, and procurement
• Strong knowledge of fit-out materials (joinery, gypsum, flooring, glass, metal, finishes, MEP items)
• Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and specifications
• Experience in package-based procurement and tendering processes
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial skills
• Proficient in RFQs, CS, LPOs, subcontracts, and cost tracking
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and reporting tools
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-track fit-out projects

Competencies

1. Ability to prepare budgets, monitor costs, and manage variances effectively

2. Strong skills in BOQs, RFQs, and technical & commercial bid analysis

3. End-to-end procurement handling including sourcing, LPOs, and delivery tracking

4. Ability to secure competitive pricing and favorable contractual terms

5. Solid understanding of joinery, finishes, gypsum, flooring, MEP, and related items

6. Capability to read drawings and translate them into procurement packages

7. Effective coordination with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams

8. Ability to evaluate options, identify gaps, and resolve procurement challenges

9. Managing multiple procurement packages within tight project deadlines

10. Ensuring precision in quantities, documentation, and compliance with specifications
