POSITION SUMMARY

Incumbent will be responsible to support and/or developing solutions to technical problems of wide scope. He/she has extensive use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Incumbent should be able to work without specific, detailed instructions to complete the task. Carries out assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop requirements, specifications, test, troubleshoot, and certify core avionics/electrical systems functions/systems, e.g. EFIS (Electronic Flight Information System), Crew Alerting, TAWS, TCAS (including ADS-B out and in), AFCS, Radio Altimeter, AHRS, Air Data, FDR/CVR, Flight Management System & Datalink (including ACARS and CPDLC).Perform analyses and prepare ICDs for System Integration with Avionics/Electrical System (for e.g. review and finalize I/V specifications of source & load for interface design, Load Analysis of system ).Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system interface wiring using computer based drafting tools (CATIA/CCD and/or IAI HarnesSys/Mentor Graphics).Will utilize electronic test equipment to verify avionics and electrical systems meet design requirements and/or for system troubleshooting.Assist with writing functional technical & test specifications for a system pertinent to design or test requirements respectively. (Descriptions of supplier parts, test or rigging specifications, etc.)Assist with preparation of certification documentation including certification plans, ground and flight test plans and certification reports showing avionics and electrical systems compliance with 14 CFR Part 23/25.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to understand functionality and author aircraft and system-level requirements and specification documents Note: These statements are intended to describe the general nature of the job and are intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills and duties.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

Demonstrated experience with design and development of electrical/electronic systems.Knowledge of certification, safety requirements and demonstrated DfC (Design for certification), DfS (Design for Safety) experience to meet certification and safety needsHands-on experience with Capital Logic and Harness XC is preferredHands-on Experience with Garmin, Rockwell Collins, and/or Honeywell avionics systems is preferred.Experience with minimum performance standards and Advisory Circulars is desired.Experience with EWIS 25.17xx design and certification requirements is desired.Knowledge of CFR 14 Part 23 and/or CFR 14 Part 25 is preferred

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Masters in Avionics, Electrical, or Electronics or any related field with 4-6 years of relevant work experience
