Engineer II, Dev.Ops

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support our small, fast-moving development team at Auction Software. This team builds and maintains a highly scalable, multi-tenant auction platform using modern web technologies. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and scaling cloud infrastructure in AWS, with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and container-based deployments. The ideal candidate will help streamline CI/CD pipelines, improve system reliability, and collaborate closely with developers to support efficient and secure production environments.


  • Provide ongoing technical support for the Public facing and Internal IT technologies in current and future. Understand and utilize the defined change control procedures, installation instructions and support request instructions
  • Respond to escalations of incidents from the Global Service Desk
  • Escalate incidents to service/application vendor as needed for timely resolution
  • Respond to system monitoring alerts in a timely manner to ensure system quality availability, security, and performance
  • Break down any outages or quality issues to root causes and prevent recurrences by addressing root causes
  • Evaluate trends in incidents or any potential issues within the environment and develop plans to fix any problems when identified
  • Create and document SOPs for all IT activities including implementation and support in the scope of this role
  • Participate in the On-Call and after-hours maintenance activities
  • Engage in and work through major incidents (Sev1, Sev2, Sev3)
  • Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform
  • Build and maintain environments running on ECS and EC2
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for React and Node.js applications
  • Collaborate with developers to improve deployment, observability, and reliability
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and cost efficiency
  • Manage and support data layers including relational and caching technologies
  • Apply security best practices across infrastructure and deployments
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and application-level issues in development and production

Education/ Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of information systems Technology experience
  • 3+ years DevOps/Application and configuration deployment with Java/.NET/Perl
  • 3+ years Private/Public/Hybrid Cloud Experience
  • 3+ years OS configuration and deployment Automation
  • Experience working in an e-commerce environment

Skills and Ability :

  • Strong experience with AWS, including: EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM
  • Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch
  • Handson experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning
  • Experience deploying and supporting Node.js, Express Js Framework applications
  • Familiarity supporting frontend applications built with React, Next js
  • Working knowledge of: MySQL and/or Amazon RDS, Redis, S3 and/or Amazon Elasti Cache
  • Experience with Linux based systems and basic shell scripting
  • Understanding CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Comfort working in a small team with shared responsibility and ownership
  • Knowledge of PCI compliance and security best practices
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as Qualys and Microsoft Defender
  • Ability to analyze, remediate, and resolve identified security vulnerabilities
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Strong research, analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong team player that values the importance of the success of their team
  • Demonstrated success in complex problem-solving environments

Work Conditions/ Physical Demands :

  • The physical demands of typical office positions are expected. The noise level in the work environment is low. The ability to sit and perform terminal/computer work for lengthy periods is expected. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel :

  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or business needs (up to 10%).

Pay & Benefits :

Compensation is determined by various factors such as location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as internal and external equity and organizational needs. Additionally, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

The salary range for this position is $70,200 to $87,800 annually. The posted range reflects our national average range for the job. We may ultimately pay more or less than the published range based on the factors mentioned above. This range may be modified in the future.
