Engineer IV - Critical Facilities (Data Center Operations)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer IV to oversee critical facilities operations within data center environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless functioning, safety, and reliability of complex mechanical, electrical, and programmable systems that support our data infrastructure. As an integral part of the facilities team, you will lead maintenance activities, troubleshoot advanced technical issues, and supervise projects to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence. Your expertise in electrical systems, mechanical knowledge, and leadership will drive continuous improvement and operational resilience in our critical facilities. Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the operation and maintenance of critical facility systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, fire suppression, and backup power systems.
  • Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor, control, and optimize facility operations efficiently.
  • Develop, review, and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Lead maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule inspections, track repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Supervise facilities maintenance projects such as welding repairs, electrical upgrades, or mechanical installations while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections using tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing; perform troubleshooting to diagnose faults accurately.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on projects involving manufacturing processes or large-scale facility upgrades; supervise subcontractors as needed.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge for tasks such as residential painting touch-ups or structural repairs within the facility environment.
  • Lead emergency response efforts during facility incidents by communicating effectively with emergency responders and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards for facilities maintenance and safety regulations through detailed documentation and reporting. Experience
  • Extensive experience in facilities maintenance within data centers or manufacturing environments with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proven supervisory experience managing teams or projects related to critical infrastructure operations.
  • Strong background working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, and electrical troubleshooting tools such as ohmmeters.
  • Demonstrated expertise in welding techniques and mechanical repairs relevant to large-scale facility operations.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms for work order management and asset tracking.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with leadership capabilities to coordinate teams effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of residential painting techniques is a plus for minor aesthetic or structural touch-ups within the facility setting.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing for documentation purposes. Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
