Job Description
Provides project management support to the City Engineer for infrastructure and other City engineering initiatives. Reviews survey work, prepares cost estimates, and coordinates with consulting engineers, architects, and contractors.

Assists and prepares the City of Laredo Capital Improvement Plan

Assists in administering/executing the five Year Capital Improvement Plan
-
Reviews survey work and analyzes data to design and execute a proposed construction project.

Prepares engineering cost estimation and project specifications.

Oversees the work of consulting engineers, architects, and contractors in all phases of the design and construction.

Prepares construction contracts and bids documents; reviews and approves material submittals.
-
Assists in performing final inspection for completed projects.

Provides technical support to parks, public works, and community development in all phases of construction.

Files documents, plans, plats, and layouts; creates reports and presentations.

Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff.

Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Valid Licenses and Certifications
Valid Texas Driver License*

If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained prior to employment.
As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
Effective February 24, 1997, all selected applicants are required to undergo a drug and alcohol test prior to employment.
