Engineering Intern

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Intern will:

• Complete technical projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a chemical plant and the chemical industry. Examples of recently completed projects include:
  • Maximizing Carus sustainability efforts and cost savings through new process development
  • Developing and implementing a consistent project management process
  • Mapping process workflow for manufacturing lines
  • Developing and implementing new electronic assessment forms
• Perform tasks requiring the application of standard chemical engineering techniques and procedures to build upon technical expertise
• Design chemical systems, correct and update designs, and assist lead engineers with various project duties
• Participate in several offsite visits to expand knowledge of manufacturing technologies, local history, and the Carus business
• Deliver a presentation of accomplishments and experience to the leadership team

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The right candidate will be a self-directed, analytical, and organized individual who is naturally curious and shows strong attention to detail. Your credentials ideally include:

• Undergraduate students currently enrolled in at least their sophomore year pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Previous hands-on experience working with machinery and scientific instruments
• Communication skills that show an ability to be a collaborative team player with a can-do attitude
• Strong work ethic and ability to meet project deadlines
