Current Available Role: Staff or Associate Geotechnical Engineer
Job Type and Location: Full-time; Kenner, Louisiana
Description:
The Engineering Intern (E.I./E.I.T) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) will assist the engineering department team in related project tasks such as planning, analysis, and reporting of geotechnical engineering services. Their role will be to provide technical and operational support to Project Manager/Engineer with regards to field testing, laboratory testing, engineering analysis, and technical writing for geotechnical engineering explorations/projects. Potential field assignments may involve coordinating with involved parties (e.g. client, property owner, utility representative, etc.) and observing/guiding field drilling team in completing project objectives. Below are some job responsibilities:
· Set-up and coordinate pre-field exploration services
· Observe field logging, in-situ testing, and drilling methods
· Understanding of field and laboratory test methods involved in geotechnical explorations
· Assist in engineering analysis and design procedures for: slope stability, floodwalls, sheet pile walls, shallow foundations, deep foundations, pavement systems
· Assist in Project Management and communication with the Client.
· Visiting project sites and providing guidance prior, during, and after project’s completion

Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) from an ABET accredited program (Required)
· Coursework (Preferable): shallow foundations, deep foundations, slope stability, advanced geotechnical engineering topics (e.g. slope stability, ground improvement, pavement design)
Licenses:
o Driver's License (Required); Must be over 21 years of age.
o Engineering Intern Certificate (E.I./E.I.T.)(Required)
o Professional Engineer (P.E.)(Preferred)
Work Experience:
· Geotechnical Engineering Projects: 3 years (Minimum)
· Shallow foundations, deep foundations: 1 year (Preferred)
· Slope stability, advanced geotechnical topics: 1 year (Preferred)
· Software: Slope/W, Settle3, Ensoft Suite (APILE/LPILE), Microsoft Applications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
