The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of talented engineers working on impactful products that shape the future of education. You will be at the forefront of driving technical excellence and fostering a collaborative environment where innovation thrives. As a hands-on Software Engineering Manager, you’ll not only guide your team but also deploy your technical expertise to help deliver products that transform how students and educators engage with higher education.

What You'll Do

• Drive high-performance software delivery for a team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define and execute the product roadmap.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Implement best practices in coding, testing, and deployment to maintain high standards of software quality.
• Engage in design reviews and code reviews to up-level the performance of your team.
• Set the standard for code quality by contributing to the codebase yourself (wherever feasible & necessary)
• Identify and address technical challenges, providing innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and AI to drive continuous improvement within the product and internal tooling
  
  

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer; ideally at different levels of scale
• 2+ years of experience managing software engineers
• Strong ownership mindset and the ability to autonomously lead the squad alongside product and design
• Deep curiosity, customer empathy, and commitment to engineering as a craft
• Ability to plan, estimate, and manage the technical aspects of project execution and delivery
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to mentor junior developers
• Impeccable communication skills for collaborating with product, design, and customer-facing teams
