Job Summary
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing WESCORP’s Engineering team. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of engineering functions – including process development, production support, and technology improvements. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and sales to drive innovation, and enhanced efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering team to ensure timely and effective execution of our engineering initiatives

Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing methods and procedures that support the efficient and cost-effective processing of customer orders

Approve and guide job quotations and cost estimates, ensuring accuracy in sequences of operation, cycle times, tooling needs, inspection requirements and delivery expectations

Review and validate Job Standards and Work Order Travelers for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all drawing, specification, and customer contract requirements are met

Interface with Customers, Sales, Production Control, and Purchasing to ensure timely delivery and technical compliance

Provide leadership in tool, jig, and fixture design efforts to support quality production and cost control, incorporating DFM principles where applicable

Offer technical support and oversight during internal and external audits, ensuring engineering documentation and processes meet applicable quality standards and support corrective action planning and resolution

Maintain engineering best practices in compliance with quality systems (ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP, and industry regulations (FAA, etc.)

Represent the engineering function in cross-functional meetings, project reviews, and customer interactions as needed

Support the development and implementation of new technologies and automation initiatives

Champion professional development for the engineering team, fostering growth in skills enrichment, process knowledge, and leadership capabilities
Core Competencies & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline
-
10+ years of engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., Aerospace, Automotive, Medical)

2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage and develop engineering teams

Experience using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software

Experience reading and creating technical documentation including engineering drawings, specifications, and process instructions

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling design, and DFM principles
-
Experience with QMS and standards such as ISO9001, AS9100, NADCAP or FAA Part 145
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working with thermal spray coatings and antigal coating in a production environment

Familiarity with G-Code & M-Code CNC programming

Prior experience in a machine shop setting, including familiarity with milling, turning, grinding, and working with stainless steel, or other superalloys

Functional understanding of control systems, control panels, and industrial robotic programming

Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Project Management (PMP)

Physical Demands
